The STPG glass harp trolley
(also called a string rack or harp rack) is a mobile production tool for glass processors and window manufacturers where the load consists of individual glass sheets taken directly from cutting or processing lines. The strung frame — horizontal strings supporting the glass instead of a solid steel rear wall — eliminates the problem of catching a glass edge on the frame when inserting a sheet from any height.
In the UK market this type of trolley is commonly called a harp trolley or harp rack; in the US market a glass dolly with a harp frame. In Polish production environments the terms wózek strunowy (string trolley) or harfowy (harp) are used.
Why a harp trolley rather than the type A or type L?
Type A and type L trolleys have a solid steel rear frame — optimal for transporting windows in packaged batches. The harp trolley excels when: (1) loading individual glass sheets directly from cutting where each sheet is a different height; (2) precise angular positioning of the glass sheet is needed without risk of edge scratching on the frame; (3) working in a tight production hall where maximum manoeuvrability under full load is required.
Custom configuration only
String spacing and count, trolley dimensions, guide layout and castor type are all configured for the specific production line. No catalogue version — every harp trolley is an individual project.

FAQ
What makes the harp trolley different from the type A or type L trolley?
The harp trolley has horizontal strings instead of a solid rear frame. As a result, you can insert glass sheets at any height without catching on the frame. For that reason, it works best for individual sheets straight from cutting lines. Type A and L trolleys, on the other hand, suit packaged window transport.
How is string spacing determined?
We configure string spacing and count to the format and weight of the glass sheets. At order, therefore, provide your typical sheet dimensions. In addition, specify the required load capacity per level.
Can the harp trolley be lifted by HIAB/crane?
Yes — we fit forklift pockets as standard. Moreover, HIAB lifting points come included.
What castor options are available?
Basically, we offer polyamide castors in three versions. Swivel castors, firstly, give full movement freedom. Fixed castors, on the other hand, move linearly and add stability. Swivel castors with a brake, finally, secure parking during loading. In each case, we select them to suit your working environment.
How does ordering a harp trolley work?
Firstly, provide your hall or work zone dimensions. Next, share your typical sheet format and load capacity requirements. After that, we develop the design. Finally, we send photo documentation at every production stage.
