The STPG single-sided locking L-frame glass stillage

(105×80×110 cm) addresses the load security challenge when transporting unpackaged glass on difficult terrain. With an open stillage the driver must apply straps or wedges at every delivery point — on multi-drop routes that means dozens of extra operations daily and a constant risk of being skipped. The front locking bar mechanically secures the load for the entire journey: one lock movement at loading, one unlock at delivery.

The 105×80×110 cm dimensions are slightly larger than the type L (100×80×110 cm) — the difference accommodates the locking mechanism while maintaining full frame load capacity. Beyond this parameter the locking stillage handles identical formats to the type L.

When is a locking stillage essential?

The front locking bar is recommended for: transporting unpackaged glass on long routes (over 100 km); deliveries to construction sites with uneven access roads; transporting toughened or laminated glass where any movement risks edge damage; insurance or OHS requirements specifying mechanical load securing.

FAQ

What is the difference between the locking bar and a safety pin?
A safety pin is a vertical rod that secures the load from above. Many stillages, moreover, carry it as standard. The locking bar, on the other hand, closes from the front. As a result, it gives more positive retention on uneven terrain and during braking. In addition, you can combine both elements.

Is the locking stillage harder to operate?
No — the lock opens and closes in one movement. As a result, loading and unloading time stays comparable to a standard open stillage.

Why is the locking stillage 5 cm longer than the type L?
The locking mechanism requires 5 cm of additional space. Even so, it maintains full frame load capacity. In practice, therefore, the difference does not affect the number of stillages per trailer.

Can the locking stillage be lifted by HIAB/crane?
Basically, forklift pockets come as standard. HIAB crane lifting eyes, moreover, are available on request.

What is the warranty?
Above all, we back every unit with a 24-month manufacturer’s warranty.
